Soundela at Fak’ugesi Festival 2026

Next week, Soundela is heading to Fak’ugesi Festival in Johannesburg.

Taking place from 13 to 17 October, this year’s festival explores African Imaginaries, bringing together artists, designers, technologists, researchers and makers to explore how imagination can shape the future.

It’s a space that feels particularly relevant to the work we’re interested in at Soundela. Sound sits somewhere between technology, culture, storytelling and experience. We’re always curious about what happens when those worlds meet, and what new ideas emerge when people from different creative disciplines are in the same room.

We’re looking forward to spending time across the festival programme, from talks and conversations to exhibitions, performances and immersive work. More than anything, we’re interested in listening, looking and seeing what people are making, thinking about and imagining from an African perspective.

If you’re heading to Fak’ugesi too, come say hello.
